3 days quad biking in the Agafay desert – Lake Takerkoust – Kik Plateau – Atlas Mountains – Amizmiz

3-day excursion from Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains and Amizmiz: Day 1: Marrakech – Kik Plateau

Departure from the hotel around 9am towards Lake Takerkoust, arrival at our base around 10am, fitting helmet, mask and balaclavas, safety briefing.

You begin your journey towards the Kik Plateau where you can meet the nomads who still live in the heart of the mountains. You will also be able to

admire the black mountains of typical villages with a panoramic view of the High Atlas, lunch at the restaurant chez yanis & lea at the top of the village tagadirt.

In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy the new and varied landscapes deep in the mountains towards Asni, taking a break at the mountain summit opposite the highest peak, Toubkal, and the Okeimden ski resort. After a stop for mint tea at a local’s home in a Berber village, you’ll continue through Berber villages nestled among fir trees, heading towards Ouirgane, where you’ll spend the first night at the sheepfold.

Day 2: Ourgane – Agafai Desert

After breakfast at the sheepfold, we depart, crossing the mountain range towards Amizmiz. There, we climb between apple orchards and wetlands, enjoying incredible and unique views. The villages of Anougal, Imintala, and Inghed are among the oldest villages of the High Atlas. We continue to Amizmiz for lunch at the Blue Spring.

Departure in the afternoon, crossing the village of Ouled Metaa towards the Black Mountains on the Mejjat side, where a new adventure awaits. There are some slightly technical and fun sections, a grand tour leading to the Agafai Desert on the Ait Imour side. In the heart of the desert, the second night will be spent enjoying the thrills under the stars after a traditional dinner around the campfire at the luxury bivouac.

Day 3: Agafai Desert – Lake Takerkoust

After the magnificent sunrise and breakfast amidst the beautiful landscapes and dunes of the desert, it’s time to return and enjoy a half-day exploring the Agafai desert plains, followed by lunch at the Flouka restaurant.

The afternoon takes place by the lake, the Atlas mountains, crossing the zeng mines, the eucalyptus forests, a stop for mint tea in a Berber village, before taking the path back to the starting point, end of the circuit around 5pm.
